Is Air Conditioning Included in an Alleppey Houseboat Day Cruise?

Air conditioning is not automatically included in every Alleppey houseboat day cruise. Confirm which areas are cooled, when AC operates and whether it is included in your final group price. An air-conditioned bedroom and an air-conditioned seating lounge are different things.
Why “AC houseboat” is not a complete description

For a concrete example, Beautiful Alleppey’s published day-cruise page describes its Deluxe option with an open-air deck, while its Premium and Luxury options advertise daytime AC in seating lounges. The useful question is therefore: “Where will our group sit, and will that area be air-conditioned during our actual cruise?” A category name or a photo of an AC unit does not answer it.
Bedroom AC versus lounge AC
A sales category and an official classification also need to be kept separate. Read approval claims versus houseboat package labels before treating either as proof of daytime cooling.

Check the access terms for private and shared day cruises before assuming every bedroom or onboard facility is included. Ask for the day-cruise access terms for the assigned boat. For shared seats, also establish which cooled areas, if any, your ticket lets you use.
When does the air conditioning run?
Ask for the operating hours within your booked departure and return window. If a listing gives cooling hours outside your day trip, that information does not establish daytime AC access. Also ask whether cooling operates while the boat is moving and during any moored meal break.
A written answer such as “AC in the main lounge throughout your booked daytime cruise, included in the quoted total” is more useful than “AC available.” If it is an optional extra, request the revised total for your group before accepting the booking.
Which option should you choose?

If your priority is spending the day in a cooled communal space, ask for a confirmed air-conditioned lounge with enough seats for everyone. Bedroom-only cooling may not meet that need.
If you mainly want an outdoor view from a shaded deck, compare the seating, shade and fans before paying for an AC upgrade. Request recent photos of the actual boat rather than choosing from a category label alone.
For children or older travellers planning a day cruise, explain the practical requirement: a cooled place to sit or rest, easy access to that area and a suitable toilet. Ask the operator to confirm the boat can meet it. This is a comfort checklist, not a claim that a particular boat is suitable for every passenger.
Five questions to send before you book
- Which boat will we use, and can you send recent photos of its seating lounge and rooms?
- Which areas have AC, and can our day-cruise group access them?
- During which hours will AC operate on our trip, including while cruising and during lunch?
- Is AC included in the full group total? If extra, what is the revised total?
- If the assigned boat changes, will the replacement have the same agreed facilities?
